In turn, the final flight of a Delta B777-200(LR) was on October 31 - from New York JFK to Los Angeles - operated by N701DN (msn 29740). This twinjet was also ferried for storage at Victorville shortly after.

Delta Air Lines resolved to retire all B777-200s in May 2020, at that time outlining a plan to do so by the end of 2020. The carrier owned eight B777-200(ER)s and ten -200(LR)s. The -200(ER)s were a much older subfleet, ranging from 18.7 to 21.7 years of age. In turn, the -200(LR)s were between 10.6 and 12.8 years old. All 18 aircraft are currently in storage at Victorville, Marana, or Birmingham, AL.
